This is the time to check your connection, your sound and your image. We will support if needed.
Bring your coffee/lunch and see who is there.

Practicalities of the conference
Large group facilitated session
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.” Brené Brown
This is a workshop that inspires the participants to let go of their coolness and crippling ideals and instead embrace and share their imperfections and authenticity.
Many of our learning-institutions have taught us to be strong, positive and in control. It is just now that organisations are starting to realize that if you shut out everything that you judge imperfect then a lot of good stuff, actually the best stuff, is left out too. A culture striving for perfection burns people out and lacks the capacity to be brave, open, generous and playful. All capacities we need to use to tackle the increasing complexity of business and collaboration.
UnCool School is a session that is full of playfulness, is tons of fun and creates a space for people to dare to show themselves and be vulnerable. We will investigate how to celebrate and harvest our individual quirkiness for the benefit of the group. This will build trust in the group, helps us understand how to work better together and allow us to be more real and sincere with each other.
Josh Lenn: I am very passionate about helping people, teams and companies be more creative, collaborative, bold and confident. Aside from being a coach and facilitator, I am also an actor and director. I combine these talents to help people change their mindset towards failure, in order to dare more and lead bigger, bolder work lives. People tell me I have lots of energy, so get ready for a very active session.
To be present, hold space and create connection are high ranked features when trying to characterize a professional facilitator. They are (or were?) also features considered to be at risk of being lost, when facilitating virtual meetings compared to a face to face event. That is, at least “before Corona”.
In this session I’ll invite us to co-explore what new possibilities are emerging in facilitation and in the facilitator role, when our meetings are moved into the virtual space. Based on research on virtual meetings and the nervous system as well as my own experiences and reflections as a participant and facilitator during the Pandemic, the sessions aims to create a space for reflections and co-learning among participants, around the following questions:
– How can we understand and grab the virtual space and which opportunities does it may hold for new or even deeper kinds of connections as well as a higher level of inclusion and participation?
– What does it mean to “hold space” virtually?
– What does presence and connection in the facilitator role implies and how can you be present and create connection when facilitating virtual sessions?

Lättare skapa delaktighet i förändringsarbete?
– Enkla bra-att-ha-symboler under onlinemöten.

The Coronavirus outbreak has got us all to connect with nature and recognize the need for balance. How can we link this to facilitation design? How might we thoughtfully apply 5 elements to the design and enrich the experience of the group? Join in to experience a creative, thought provoking and easy to use framework to apply to your facilitated sessions and meetings. In the session, we will:
– Explore a metaphoric framework to apply to your workshops or meeting designs
– Increase your confidence and ease in designing your next workshop or meeting.

Your story is your foundation for being — the roadmap for enabling your purpose in the world. Step one is discovering and cultivating the story of your most flourishing future. Get clear about where you are and where you want to be. Your story acts as a beacon for you to follow in the world and for others to find you.
Your hosting is your foundation for action — how you work with others towards your story taking root in the world. Step two is creating the capacity to activate and empower your stories to life. Living into and living out your story brings it into the world. How you take action, especially with others, matters.
People tell me I am a powerful synthesiser and meaningmaker, and that they value my insight and ability to make the complex understandable, the simple profound and the pathway clear. People often say they love my stories, feel faith in groups again and feel well and wisely held. Mary-Alice Arthur
“Show us what methods you know!”, the client said. “Well, that depends on your goals”, we responded. “Tell us about your needs and what you want to achieve to start with. Then we can suggest a process that help you achieve the outcomes in an effective way.”
To be more focussed on how sessions are designed than what the outcomes are, or, wanting to entertain groups in workshops as the main purpose can be a trap for facilitators and clients. Of course engagement, involvement and fun during sessions are essential. The end game for facilitators is however always to make it more easy for a group to reach outcomes and take action. In this session, we will focus on what happens as a result of your facilitation, and on the initial, magic interactions with clients, where the road to successful interventions begin.

Open Space Technology (OST) is a large group method used around the world since 1985. In this session you will learn how OST can be used for online meetings for groups of 5-1000!
Working in an Open Space meeting invites the full potential of the group/organization. Every topic that is important enough will get on the agenda which is empty/not planned at the start of the meeting! Everything is connected since an OST meeting has a clear purpose and a pre-determined theme. The agenda is created by the participants who form self-managed workgroups. Everyone works with topics of their own choice and can choose to move on to another group at any time. The “engines” that make it work are the passion and responsibility present in the group.
The facilitator is fully present but totally invisible most of the meeting. She/he has some key responsibilities such as introducing the participants to this way of working…and then stay out of the way. During the final part of the meeting the facilitator guides the group in some sort of convergence. Usually action plans are made before leaving the room/space.
We will invite our participants to do some pre-work, watching a video or two or read some materials. This is especially important if you are new to Open Space Technology and wish to have maximum benefit from this workshop.
Thomas Herrmann “bumped into Open Space Technology” in 1998 and immediately fell in love. Since then he has worked together with the most experienced persons around the world including Harrison Owen (inventor of OST) and Birgitt Williams founder of the International Genuine Contact Organization.
Thomas has facilitated many hundred OST conferences with groups up to 700 persons. He has taught “Working with OST” for almost 20 years to several hundred participants around the world in both public and inhouse workshops. Thomas is a pioneer in using OST in online environments, starting already 15 years ago it is a very natural way to work for him. Now it’s a good time to share this knowledge!

Get into your tribe and share your learnings in a fun and exiting way.
What do you as a facilitator value when you facilitate, and how can you make sure those values shows in your behaviors? In this workshop we will explore what is important to you and to the participants to be able to reach the group’s full potential. And we will be super concrete and create the actual behaviors and communication that walk the talk. The starting point is our brains and the social needs we all have when interacting in a group setting.
Anna Gullstrand is an experienced leader and facilitator, and VP People of Mentimeter. The workshop is based on her recently published book ”Facilitera – Allt du behöver veta för att framgångsrikt leda människor i workshops”. The session will be in English and is suitable for all levels of experience.
Better conversations bring better decisions. But most team’s struggle to have constructive dialogue. In this session, you will get a way to:
– Let teams discover how to improve their dialogue
– Use a simple approach that improves conversation
– Share dialogue insights with teams around the world
We have been collecting a lot of data on what makes conversations better – but not many people want to hear about the best practices for dialogue. That’s why we designed this session as a Dialogue Experiment– an exercise that lets you get into interaction, and then see what is helped or blocked the dialogue.
Our hope is for you to help other people to enter into conversation on any topic, and be able to use this debriefing approach to generate better questions, better exploration and better outcomes for your teams. Dialogue Experiments are led by people like you. Have a peek at #stimulatingconveration to see what #helpsdialogue in the Stimulating Conversation Project.
PRIZES: We will give away three of Stimulating Conversation dice sets.
BONUS: All participants will receive The Tiny Book of Dialogue.
Jeffer London is on the board of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). Office life will not be the same again: many people are working from home and they are unlikely to return to their offices for 5 days. The cautious trend towards remote working has now swept ruthlessly across almost all medium to large organizations. This has had and will continue to have an enormous effect on the way their staff communicate. So what? You may ask. Online we can accomplish exactly the same things we did before. In fact, in many cases it is even more effective and efficient.
At the same time, however, we know that there is a gap between live and online communications. Probably the biggest difference is in informal communications: chit-chat, gossip, quick questions and answers. They lubricate processes such as informal learning, alignment, motivation, companionship, leadership. And ultimately, these informal communications shape the organisational culture – they are an essential part of ”how we do things here”.
This session will zoom in on the impact of this communication shift. We will investigate 4 themes around the topic: positive and negative impact; resistance against formalising informal communications; differences between individuals and the consequences for organizations; and solutions. For each theme, we will start with some first ideas on how to tackle the topic and then explore the best ideas together in peer-to-peer learning. For meetings and the way they are facilitated will play a major role in how leaders will navigate though this different communications landscape. What can facilitators tell them to help them along?
Mike van der Vijver is a facilitator, moderator and chairman of the day at meetings and alternatively provides content and training on topics such as meeting effectiveness, innovative meeting formats, facilitation and especially Meeting Design.
